Prof.
S etrajcic was born on April 7th 1951
in Novi Sad (Vojvodina, Serbia). He completed
his undergraduate studies in Physics at
the Faculty of Sciences, University of
Novi Sad in 1974. He obtained his M.Sc.
degree in Physics in 1983. at the Faculty
of Sciences, University of Belgrade, in
the field of Theoretical Solid State Physics.
He defended his Ph.D. thesis in Theoretical
Solid State Physics in 1985 at the Faculty
of Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
Prof.
Setrajcic has been an employee of the
Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences,
University of Novi Sad, since 1975, till
1987 as a Teaching Assistant, 1987-1992
Assistant Professor, 1992-1996 Associate
Professor and since 1996 as Professor
of Mathematical Physics & Biophysics.
He is also the Professor of Superconductive
Materials and Technologies at the Faculty
of Electrical Engineering , University
of Belgrade, and Theoretical Physics
at Faculty of Sciences, University of
Banja Luka.
He
was elected a member of the Academy of
Sciences and Arts of Serbian Republic
in 2004.
Throughout
his career, Prof. Setrajcic has been
engaged in teaching General Physics and
Biophysics courses and various courses
in Theoretical Physics as well as in
teaching Material Science course.
During
this period, he served as the advisor
supervising 70 B.Sci. theses, 5 M.Sci.
theses and 4 Ph.D. theses.
His
field of research is Theoretical Condensed
Matter Physics, i.e. Theoretical Material
Science with particular interest in superconductivity
and properties of bounded and layered
crystal structures as well as structures
with broken translation symmetry in general.
During the last 30 years he has published
environ 180 scientific papers, 170 conference
reports and participated as a co-author
in 7 scientific monographs as well as
in 46 books). |
