The registration fee includes:

  1. Admission to all Plenary, oral and poster sessions and exhibition
  2. Programme and the Book of Abstracts
  3. Conference material: PVC folder, ball-pen, note-pad and various leaflets
  4. One copy of the proceedings - full information will be available in April 2009
  5. Conference ID badge
  6. Refreshments during breaks
  7. Welcome cocktail party on Monday.

Student fee is available to students of graduate, master and PhD studies, younger than 25, 30 and 35, respectively. Student status has to be officially confirmed by the relevant Faculty.
Upon receiving emailed request with all the necessary details (fee, title, name and surname of the participant, full mail address and fax number), Conference Secretary will send you the invoice with Bank details. We do not receive check or card payments. Please note there is a rule that one conference fee is for one abstract only.
Please, note that Advance-fee-paying participants will automatically have their abstract included in the Book of Abstracts. Late/On-Site Fee-paying participants are obliged to send an official Letter of Confirmation from their Institute/Faculty (signed original) to the Conference Secretary before June 15th in order to confirm their participation on the Conference. Otherwise, their abstract will not be included in the Book of Abstracts nor in the Conference Program.

Official letter of invitation can be issued upon a request by the participant to obtain a visa. Please contact Conference Secretary.


Paper presentation and abstract preparation and publication

The conference will feature 5 symposia, which will comprise invited keynote lectures by the leaders in the field, oral and poster presentations. Abstract in English, no longer than 10 lines, and registration form, should be submitted by May 1st, 2009. The recommended abstract format is given bellow.

The Scientific Committee will evaluate the submitted abstracts and, on the basis of their contents, assign the papers, taking into account author’s wishes as much as possible, to the oral or poster presentation in relevant Symposium. Abstracts will be included in a Book of Abstracts and distributed to each participant at the conference registration.

Conference programme and further information about the Conference will be sent by email to registered participants, who paid registration fees, by July 1st, 2009.

English will be the official language for presentation and discussion of papers. The total times allocated for presentations are 30 minutes for invited papers and 15 minutes for other papers, including 3-5 minutes for discussion. All speakers should arrive at the session venue and introduce himself/herself to the session chairmen at least 10 minutes before each session. Please prepare presentation in Microsoft Windows PowerPoint on CD or USB flash-memory and submit it at Registration, specifying the name of the speaker and the day and session number.

Poster sessions will be held in Business Club (next to the National restaurant, across the beach). Posters should be max. 0,85 m wide and 1,25 m long, preferably in one piece and brought to the poster session venue at least an hour before the start of the session. They will be hanged on the allocated panels by double-sided scotch-tapes or push-pins (if you provide the hanging-ring on the upper side of the poster). Please ask one of the standing-by helpers from the Organizing team if you need assistance of any kind.


Instructions for preparing abstracts


Abstracts should be prepared using the following instructions for preparing abstracts:
Abstract size: A4, top and bottom margins 6 cm, left and right 4 cm; Line spacing: Single; Font: Times New Roman (10 pts). TITLE OF THE PAPER: CENTER, CAPITALS, BOLD, 10 pts, (1 line spacing), Name(s) of Author(s): (underline the author who will present the paper). Institution or Company, City, Country, (1 line spacing), Text should be printed single spaced in one paragraph, only plain text, no figures, no formulae, no references.


Electronic submission

Title of the attached document: Name of the first author.
Send one e-mail per abstract.
Only e-mail submissions will be acknowledged.


Papers submission

Papers should be submitted at the Registration in one hard copy and electronic version of the same on CD, if you did not already send it by e-mail to Conference Secretary (start e-mail submission from June 15th until August 25th, 2009). Please submit the names and addresses (mail and e-mail) for 5 proposed referees with the paper.

Only papers presented at the Conference will be peer reviewed and, if positive, selected papers will be published in journal Acta Physica Polonica A (by Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, IF 0.371, http://info.ifpan.edu.pl/APP/), on SCI list, and few others (we are negotiating at the moment) within the topic of these journals. We will put new information concerning available journals on the website as they become confirmed. Manuscripts prepared according to the guidelines for these journals, which are of good quality, comprehensible English language and with more than 50% references from the last 5 years, will have advantage. Instructions for Papers are available on the websites of each journal. Authors should submit papers prepared for a chosen journal according to the topic of the paper and the scope of the journal. The final decision in which journal the submitted papers will be published will be made by the Organizers and Editors.



Conference awards


The Presidency of the MRS-Serbia, at the proposal of the Awards Committee, will award the authors (preferably young members under 35) of the best oral and poster presentation at the conference, and also the authors of highly rated PhD and MSc Theses defended between two conferences. Awarded researchers are granted free registration at the next YUCOMAT Conference.


Additional Activities


Workshop and Tutorial for young researches and an Exhibition of synthesis and characterization equipment will be held during the Conference. Traditional Cocktail Party on Monday evening and excursions on Wednesday afternoon to Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Thursday afternoon (boat trip around Boka Kotorska Bay) will be organized again.
